RULES: The “Hiring Greatness” Challenge

The “Prize”:

The winner of the HG Challenge must claim and put to use the free search within 1 (one) year of the drawing.  There is no cash value to the winner nor any cash due to the winner.  Our 33% retained fee rate against the candidates first years guaranteed income would be if the actual fee by the authors would be less than $1M. The “Hiring Greatness Challenge” winning prize is for 1 (one) Free executive search conducted by the “Hiring Greatness” book authors David E. Perry and Mark J. Haluska whereas our search consulting fee to the winning organization / institution of up to $ 1M will be waived.    

Conditions:

  1. Standard retained search agreement used by Perry-Martel and RealTime Network will detail deliverables.
  2. Open to any company of any size in the continental United States and Canada.
  3. Void where prohibited by law.
  4. Any province, state, federal, local, VAT, Use or any other taxes due to any government agency, or taxing authority as a result of winning this challenge or any organization who collects taxes in behalf of any government agency at any level is the sole responsibility of the winning organization/institution to pay such taxes or fees.
  5. This is a onetime search to fill one position in the organization and the search must begin within in 18 months of the winner being announced on November 1st, 2016.
  6. Multiple positions cannot be combined to have the total fee equal $1 million dollars.
  7. The authors’ One Year Guarantee is included.
  8. The fee being waved is for time and research costs only, to complete the search.  Normal expenses are NOT included and will be invoiced separately if need be.  Winner is responsible for all their own costs and those cost of its search committee.
  9. There must be a search committee created by the winner with one search chair per the guidelines in Hiring Greatness.

Rules/guidelines – in no particular order

  1. The more books purchased by a single organization/institution increases the chances of winning. Each book purchased will be 1 chance of winning.  10 books purchased is 10 chances.  100 books purchased is 100 chances of winning, etc.   Acceptable proof of purchase(s) will be required for each entry. Proof of purchase is either a legitimate printed or electronic receipt from a book store or book publisher, issued to the original purchaser of the book. 
  2. Winner will be drawn on November 1st, 2016, by an independent organization which has no affiliation with the authors.
  3. Any province, state, federal, local, VAT, Use or any other taxes due to any government agency, or taxing authority as a result of winning this challenge or any organization who collects taxes in behalf of any government agency at any level is the sole responsibility of the winning organization/institution to pay such taxes or fees.
  4. The winner of the “Hiring Greatness Challenge” agrees to pay each authors expenses incurred during the executive search to include but are not limited to any expenses related to this search such as daily meal per diem, candidate/ client entertainment, parking, air fares, baggage fee’s, car rentals, separate hotel rooms, taxi’s, postage/shipping,  
  5. Author’s meal per diem will be at the rate the U.S. Government currently pays civil service employees for travel and therefore will vary depending on the location of travel at the time the search is performed. Personal vehicle mileage incurred will be charged at the rate currently authorized for business travel by the U.S. Internal Revenue Service, at the time the expense is incurred. 
  6. Arrangements for travel of authors will, at the option of the authors, be made by the winner of the challenge.  
  7. Any/all search related expenses incurred by authors will be invoiced to the challenge winner and due upon receipt. Failure to do so on the part of the winning organization/institution will result in the forfeiture of …..
  8. The actual non cash value of the winnings will be based on the candidates first 1 years’ guaranteed income, to include sign on bonus, etc., at our retained rate of 33 % fee rate, up to $ 1M in value.
  9. Winner agrees that the authors will have direct and unfettered access to all concerned Hiring Authorities, the Search Committee and Search Chair, if applicable.
  10. The prize is NOT transferable.
  11. No third parties may be involved with the search.
  12. Upon completion of the executive search, and at the option of the authors, winner agrees to allow a case study be done by an independent party at the choosing of the authors. Winner agrees that this case study may be published and utilized in any media as the authors deem suitable.
